Hello all,
The time has finally come to resurface the trail between the Kernsville Dam Recreation Area and the State Street Trailhead in Hamburg! This section has recently been improved but was left rough and is in need of a new surface for a smooth riding surface. We are very proud partnering with Tilden Township to complete the work.
The trail section is about 1/3 of a mile in length and no vegetation removal will need to occur. Between equipment rentals and Tilden Township providing some other equipment we will be able to get the trail surface to where it is needed and very roughly spread. Volunteers will be asked to help fully spread the trail surface and fill in the gaps of work where SRG and Tilden Township staff cannot get to.
Since this is a longer volunteer event, food will be provided to all who attend. Volunteers are expected to provide their own water but extra will be supplied if needed.
Basic tools will be provided but if special equipment is required by a volunteer, it is the responsibility of the volunteer to provide this. Gloves and safety glasses will be provided if needed or wanted. Everyone who intends to participate in the event will be required to fill out the waiver required before the day of the event. If you are not able to fill out the waiver online, some will be provided the day of the event.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Jacob Gardner (Jgardner@schuylkillriver.org)
