For this event we will begin at the Union Meadows Trail Head and drive down the trail east over the Whitacker Bridge with SRG staff supervision where we will begin trimming back vegetation that given the amount of recent rain has become overgrown. We will also be looking to remove small trees that have grown over the trail and have branches encroaching into the trail corridor as well as tree roots that have popped up into the trail surface.
Volunteers should expect to use mostly hand tools but assist SRG staff in using power tools and ensuring trail user safety while in use. Further details will be shared on the day of the event.
Basic tools will be provided but if special equipment is required by a volunteer, it is the responsibility of the volunteer to provide this. Gloves and safety glasses will be provided if needed or wanted. Everyone who intends to participate in the event will be required to fill out the waiver required before the day of the event. If you are not able to fill out the waiver online, some will be provided the day of the event.
