Our celebration made it to Reading!
We are moving our way to the Schuylkill River Trail through Reading starting at the Brentwood Trail Head and heading west. Volunteers will walk down the trail west from the parking area with SRG staff to trim back vegetation that could impact the trail as all the plants begin to grow more quickly. This section is connected to a beautiful community park and near several of the trails largest historic railroad bridges over the Schuylkill River. Due to the nature of this event, if you have not been able to or have been hesitant in the past of volunteering with us this is a great introduction to these opportunities!
Food will be provided and will act as an end to the work and will be served around 12:45. Food will include water as a beverage, and various types of pizza severed in at the trail head
Basic tools will be provided but if special equipment is required by a volunteer, it is the responsibility of the volunteer to provide this. Gloves and safety glasses will be provided if needed or wanted. Everyone who intends to participate in the event will be required to fill out the waiver required before the day of the event. If you are not able to fill out the waiver online, some will be provided the day of the event. No power tools are expected to be needed for this event and volunteers should expect to use hand tools such as loppers and handsaws only.
